Camp Elim

Camp Elim is a Christ-centered retreat for youth and young adults located in Woodland Park, CO that began in 1960. They offer a wide variety of camps and retreats throughout the whole year.

Because Camp Elim has been around for so long, some regular exterior maintenance was needed. This was the perfect opportunity for ElkStone to help replace the siding on one of the buildings that house a staff member, who runs the GAP program all year long, and his family.

In the Spring of 2021, ElkStone employees and volunteers tore off the siding, replaced it, and safely removed the family of raccoons that were living under the house! Camp Elim is such an impactful place for the youth, and we want them to be able to continue to guide and encourage kids of all ages.

Check out the slideshow that captures all of the hard work and compassion that went into this project!

Butte Family

Butte Family

In January of 2022, ElkStone was able to help out a wonderful family of 4 who lives in Parker, CO, and is very active in the community. The wife, Deb, works at the Denver Rescue Mission and dedicates her life to helping the homeless population in Denver, taking care of her husband who has MS and is wheelchair-bound, and being a mother of 2 boys.

ElkStone decided to take on the challenge of doing a complete gut and remodel of their main floor master bathroom and building a ramp to the outdoor patio in order to provide safer accommodations for Brent. Despite the busy holiday season that we were in, many employees helped to design and manage this huge project.

We had two ElkStone workdays and used several of our subs to get the job done in just over one week! Many of our subs and vendors were glad to pitch in both labor and materials. The first day of the project consisted of setting up floor prep & dust barriers, demolition, and framing with the help of our awesome employees.

Thanks to our vendors and owner, Joe Benedetto, in the next couple of days we were able to get electrical rewire, plumbing, and drywall done. Next up was tiling and getting the countertop template. With all hands on deck, we were able to accomplish tile clean-up, sink and tub installation, paint, barn door installation, lighting, punch items, and one final clean on the last workday!

The following week we were able to replace their sliding doors to the backyard with French doors and build a much safer ramp. As a company, we were blessed to be in a position to be able to give back to a much deserving family and provide a more accessible bathroom and outdoor patio for Brent!

Take a look at some of the pictures from the project and the family’s response to the finished product.

Camp Elim Service Project

Camp Elim’s location is in the heart of the Pike National Forest not far from Woodland Park and provides a beautiful setting for growth and instruction in Biblical principles.

Camp Elim offers a friendly, safe, and fun environment in which youth and adults develop lasting friendships with other campers and with the caring staff.

Some of our ElkStone employees were fortunate enough to be able to give back to a place where they had been coming for years as kids and now take their own children to this special camp. We were able to work at the camp alongside not only one another, but individuals who have long been serving at the camp. It was quite an experience for all involved.

ElkStone is blessed with having employees who possess outstanding skills and can build and create amazing things out of just a few nails, screws, and wood.

Between sharing the prepared meals with the volunteers and staff to sitting around by the fire at night making jokes, and getting busy building 2 sheds, landscaping, wood wagon with benches, main access ramp, wood walkway, and painted doors, it was so incredible to see the end results of these projects and how the efforts will contribute to the camp.

We were all ready for a nap afterwards,
but it was a rewarding experience.

Great day working with such a fantastic group of people!
